Biodiversity Competition

TLC hosts an exciting competition to coincide with International Biodiversity Day on 22nd May, where Limerick locals take and submit photos of nature in its element.

Every year TLC asks participating primary school classes to create a picture or take a photo of something which captures Limerick’s biodiversity.

This year, for example, a window sticker was produced specifically for primary schools throughout Limerick to show their support for TLC.

Alongside this, a competition for younger pupils was run to name the boy and girl characters on the sticker and summarise what TLC means to them.

The Competition had a great response and prizes included arts and craft vouchers up to the value of €500.

Below are some of the entries received from the schools:

TLC means teamwork and co-operation while having pride in our place and keeping it tidy.”

TLC is a group of community- spirited people working together to prove that the proverb 'Ní Neart go cur le Chéile' really does come true!

TLC represents a chance for my friends and I to do something good for the area we live in & to show how proud we are of it.”

TLC represents the bond between the people of Limerick and them coming together to make this city a healthier, cleaner, greener and happier place to live work and play, and show pride in their county and care for the environment as a common goal.”
